Her family owned the Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery established in 1847 in Erie Pennsylvania where her grandfather John Martin Magenau Jr. was the President and CEO before its demise in the year 1978. Jacobs studied acting from the age eight, and she attended Saturday classes in Pittsburgh Playhouse. When she graduated from Mt. Jacobs was a student at Lebanon High school from 2000 until the year 2004. Her bachelor's was awarded in 2004.
